45kWh Battery for Extended Range
Significant Range Boost
The new 45kWh battery is the star of this update, offering an ARAI-certified range of 489 km, which is 24 km more than the 40.5kWh version. In real-world conditions, Tata Motors estimates a range of 350-370 km, making the Nexon EV even more practical for daily driving and long-distance commutes. Interestingly, the Creative trim now features the 45kWh battery at a price Rs. 60,000 lower than the 40.5kWh variant, which starts from the Fearless trim.
Compact Battery Design
Despite the increase in battery capacity, Tata has maintained the same physical footprint as the 40.5kWh unit by boosting the energy density by 15%. This improvement does not affect the power output, which remains at 145 HP and 215 Nm of torque. Charging efficiency has also improved, with the 45kWh battery charging from 10% to 80% in just 48 minutes, compared to 56 minutes for the 40.5kWh variant.
Tata Motors is confident that the 5-star BNCAP crash test rating, awarded to the previous model, will also apply to the 45kWh version, ensuring top-tier safety for its users.
